At age 6, Laboeck was first placed on a snowboard by her older brother Dominik. She immediately took to the sport, competing in International Ski Federation events just two years later. By 2010, Laboeck was among the best in the world. Laboeck made her Olympic debut that year in Vancouver, competing in the parallel giant slalom. Despite finishing 15th, the momentum from the Olympic experience drove Laboeck to greater success. The following year she competed in the world championships in both the parallel slalom and parallel giant slalom. Though she failed to place in the top 10 in either event in 2011, Laboeck continued to improve. At the 2013 world championships finished first in the parallel giant slalom and sixth in the parallel slalom. She dedicated the gold medal to Dominik, who passed away in a car accident in 2003. Along with that, she has also reached the podium five times in World Cup events. Outside of snowboarding, Laboeck also works as a federal police officer.
