Furman wins first at home as Top 25 team

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) No. 23 Furman took another step in its remarkable early-season journey, one coach Bob Richey expects will benefit his team the rest of the way.

The perfect Paladins (11-0) used a late run to pull away from Charleston Southern for a 77-69 victory Tuesday night in their first-ever home game as a Top 25 team.

BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) South Dakota State scored 90 points at halftime and the Jackrabbits ran up a school-record 139-72 win against Savannah State.

Mike Daum had a double-double in the first half and finished with 37 points and 17 rebounds on Tuesday night.

Bey helps rally Colorado past New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) Colorado's Tyler Bey had his second straight double-double to help the Buffaloes to a 78-75 comeback win over New Mexico on Tuesday for their sixth straight win.

Anthony Mathis scored 23 to lead the Lobos, but he fouled out with 5.8 seconds left to deprive New Mexico of its best 3-point shooter.

The preseason No. 1, the Jayhawks are again the top-ranked in The Associated Press Top 25 despite struggling to get past New Mexico State at home. Kansas received 57 first-place votes from a 65-person media panel in the poll released Monday, sliding into the top spot after previous No. 1 Gonzaga lost to Tennessee.

Saint Mary's starts fast, tops Fullerton

MORAGA, Calif. (AP) Jordan Ford scored all of his 19 points in the first half and senior Jordan Hunter had his second career double-double to help Saint Mary's beat CSU Fullerton 81-66 on Monday night for its fourth straight win.

Hunter finished with 18 points and a career-best 10 rebounds and Ford made a career-high five 3-pointers.

Elmore shoots Marshall past Morehead St.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) Jon Elmore tied his season high with seven 3-pointers and finished with 27 points to lead Marshall to a 76-64 win over Morehead State on Monday night.

Jannson Williams had 14 points and eight rebounds and C.J. Burks added 10 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals for Marshall. The Thundering Herd (6-4) snapped a three-game skid, helped by 11 blocked shots.

Hofstra rips Manhattan, extends run to 5

RIVERDALE, N.Y. (AP) Tareq Coburn scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Desure Buie had 18 points, six assists and three steals and Hofstra beat Manhattan 80-50 on Monday night for its fifth straight victory.

It's Hofstra's first win streak of at least five games since an eight-game stretch late in the 2015-16 season. The Pride also won their first game in the series, trailing 42-23 all-time, since the 2010-11 campaign.
